Documents to Show at Immigration Upon Arrival in Ireland

Documents to Show at Irish Immigration (Dublin Airport or other entry point)

Make sure you keep these in your hand luggage, ready to show the immigration officer:

Mandatory Documents

  1. Passport – Valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned stay.
  2. D Visa (Long Stay Visa) – As a Pakistani national, you must have a D visa stamped on your passport before travel. This is in addition to your CSEP.
  3. Original Critical Skills Employment Permit (CSEP) – Print the full permit sent to you by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE).
  4. Employment Contract / Offer Letter – From your Irish employer.
  5. Accommodation Details – Hotel or Airbnb booking confirmation.
  6. Proof of Funds – Ideally 2–3 months of bank statements to show you have enough money to support yourself until your first salary.
  7. Return Flight (optional but useful) – If you have a round-trip ticket or booking confirmation, it’s sometimes viewed positively.
  8. Health Insurance – If arranged by your employer, carry a copy. If not, it’s good to show you have a plan to purchase coverage.
